Effects of Nitrogen Fertilization on Weed Flora and Productivity of Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] Crop

چکیده
The literature suggests that nitrogen (N) fertilization increases yield in soybean. This study aimed to investigate the effects of N on: (i) performance soybean, and (ii) weed flora. A two-year field experiment was carried out Agrinio, Western Greece. set up a randomized complete block design, with four organic fertilizer treatments six replications. included 0 kg ha−1 (N0/unfertilized control) application 80 ha−1, 100 120 ha−1. resulted most notable increment plant height (22.6–24%), biomass (10–13%), LAI values (14–17%), (10–12%) compared N0. Compared N0, total increased by 26–32%, 34–49%, 55–57% N80, N100, N120, respectively. H (Shannon), Dmg (Margalef), J (Pielou) indices were unaffected fertilization, hence they did not affect biodiversity. CRI (crop resistance index), on contrary, negatively affected significantly reduced. Overall, our results indicate is more efficient, can effectively improve soybean performance, enhance its yield.

Soybean is an important industrial crop in Croatia and in the last ten years (2000-2009) mean soybean harvested area was 45888 ha (from 35789 to 62810 ha) with average seed yield 2.0 t ha-1 (Central Croatian Bureau of Statistic, 2010). Seed yields of soybean varied in close connection with amount and distribution of precipitation during the vegetation period (Vučić and Bošnjak, 1980; Bošnjak, 2...

In this chapter we describe an Agrobacterium tumefaciens transformation method of soybean that utilizes mature half seeds and regeneration from the cotyledonary node region. This method results in fertile transformed soybean plants and transgenic seed in approximately 9 months. Using mature half seeds as starting material has proven to be a reliable method that does not require additional wound...

MATERIALS AND METHODS Sulfate translocation in soybean (Glycine max L. Merr) was investigated. More than 90% of the sulfate entering the shoot system was recoverable in one or two developing trifoliate leaves. In young plants, the first trifoliate leaf contained between 10 to 20 times as much sulfate as the primary leaves, even though both types of leaf had similar rates of transpiration and ph...
